Rebelcell 12V140 AV li-ion Pack

The 12V140 AV li-ion batteries have the advantages of our 12V50 and 12V100 batteries (constant thrust, ease of use, low weight) with a number of additional advantages in use. They can be used without restrictions with 12V electric motors, depth sounders and converters and the sailing time is also substantially longer. This makes them ideally suited as a power source for electric boating and fishing.

Cause

While 12V electric motors (such as Minn Kota, Motorguide, Haswing) have been developed for 'short' use in angling (laying out lines, trolling at low speed), they are increasingly used as the main drive for electric sailing. In addition, lithium batteries instead of lead batteries are increasingly being used as a power source for these engines. Despite these developments, manufacturers of electric motors are not exactly quick to adapt their products to these developments (the exception is the recently introduced Minn Kota EO, which is suitable for electric boating and lithium batteries).

That is why we have recently been working on a new product line that can be used without restrictions with all known 12V electric motors: the AV product line (AV stands for Adjusted Voltage). These batteries have a working voltage that falls within the specifications of 12V electric motors and are therefore suitable for short-term use in angling as well as for electric boating.

Extensively tested in practice

Prototypes of the new battery have been extensively tested by anglers with various brands of electric motors (including Minn Kota and Haswing) in Germany and the Netherlands and based on this we introduce two batteries: the 12V70 AV (836 Wh) with 12.6V20A battery charger and the 12V140 AV ( 1.67 kWh) with 12.6V35A battery charger.

• Fishing: 12V electric motor, depth sounder, energy supply along the waterfront.
• Electric sailing: as a power source for propulsion 12V electric motor up to 55 Lbs (electric sloop, dinghy, etc.).
• Recreation: as a service battery for a sailing yacht, motor boat or caravan.

Most important features:

• Sailing time: depends on boat load, weather conditions, wave action, and method of use of the electric motor (sailing in a low setting can more than double the sailing time!). In terms of sailing time, the battery can replace a lead-acid battery up to 12V230Ah (indicative sailing time with normal use 8 ~ 16 hours with 55 Lbs engine).
• Compact and lightweight: battery weighs only 12.5 kg
• Top performance: constant thrust even when battery is almost empty and can be discharged to 100% with no negative effect on performance or lifespan
• High ease of use: lightweight and compact, charge status indicator via LED, to be used with 'standard' DC-AC converters
• Easy charging: can be charged quickly and in the interim (full within 4-5 hours) and can also be charged via solar panels (special charge controller required)
• Reliable and long life: built-in abuse protection (against deep discharge, over voltage, high temperature, etc.) by BMS and lifespan up to 10 years.
• 2 year warranty
• Only use the li-ion battery charger recommended by Rebelcell with CC/CV charging profile (12.6V, max 35A).
• When using an trolling motor, place a suitable fuse between the battery and trolling motor to protect both. Use cables of sufficient thickness and (ANEN) plug connections to connect your electric motor to the battery for safe use. Never use alligator clips to connect your electric motor to the battery! These connections are not safe and can lead to a lot of heat with dangerous situations and damage to your electric motor and battery. Damage due to incorrect connections and cabling is expressly excluded from the warranty.
• Battery is not suitable for use with caravan movers! The high peak currents can irreparably damage the battery.
• Batteries can be connected in parallel for higher capacity. Make sure that the batteries are of the same age and charging status and use cables of sufficient thickness!
• The battery is splash-proof according to the IP54 standard. To avoid problems, use a battery box and place the battery upright on an elevation to prevent the battery from standing in water, or water from the top can damage the battery. Water damage due to misuse is expressly excluded from the warranty.
